2024年，第四次全国文物普查队的队员们背着帆布包、拿着专业测绘仪器，踏遍陇中沟壑。他们在我们村找到这片被时光遗忘的黄土城垣，实地调查、拍照、测绘、数据采集，以“张川城遗址”文物的身份进行了认定。普查队员还查阅了大量史料，一步步揭开故城的过往——它曾是交通要道上的军事重镇，东连会宁西宁城，西接安定安西城，是安定区“四普”中极具价值的新发现城址类文物。
如今，海瑞恩已将太仓视为“第二故乡”。他积极推动中德民间交流，倡议开办中德友好幼儿园、开设双元制培训中心、设立海瑞恩奖学金，先后荣获“江苏友谊奖”“太仓荣誉市民”“十大杰出德国友人”等称号。
